You have explained yourself very well. Good writing! But, in the area concerning your relationship: Why did you want more from her, wasn't friendship good enough? And if you recieved more, what do you think the ending will be? Do you think you would have been able to keep her for life? If not, then what point was it to want more? I don't mean to sound mean, I'm not trying to be. But, It isn't the end...infatuations are nothing close to genuine love. Did you ever hurt her, you did protect her in some situations did you not? Then this is what is important. You were a good friend to her...so don't hurt yourself about not being able to have her for more.

Since I know you personally, I'm not gonna comment on a personal level due to the subject. Regardless, you've articulated your thoughts very well. You've come a long way in terms of writing, Stephen. I just wish I had the resolve to write something like this^_^.

On a note, you have made a typo ("an one and off boyfriend"); other than that, this is solid and thoughtful work.
