Very good story so far. Seems to be a pretty original idea for a fic, I can't wait to see how it turns out.

One thing though, I know this is your story, and you can change any details that you wish, but I'm pretty sure that in the show at least Rei knows of her origins. At least she would know that she is not normal because of all of her clones and her memories being constantly copied. And at the end of the series, when she first uses her AT field, there was no suprise she just looked resolute. That says to me that she knows of her origin, and what she is supposed to do.

But of course, it could be a simple thing to just change that for the story.
