Darkscribes.org makes use of PHP Sessions which involve using a cookie stored on a client's machine. This cookie contains a piece of data called a Session Identification String.

Darkscribes.org uses PHP Sessions to store data such as your username and password (if you are an author at this site), favorite template, and your name and email address if you choose to allow the site's comment system to remember your data for you. It also tracks what stories you have already visited so that hit counters don't keep counting up, the last time you made a comment to prevent comment flooding, and when you voted on a story so you can't stuff the ballot box. Your IP Address is also recorded to help prevent session hyjacking.

IP Addresses are also recorded by the comment posting system so that Admins know who posted the comment and where it came from. This isn't viewable by the general public.

Email addresses that are collected here are NOT sold to ANY third parties. Believe me, we hate spam as much as you do!

Passwords for this site as encrypted using an MD5 hash along with a special key. This means that even if someone were to get their hands on our database, your password is safe.
