Before you, the reader, flame me, all I ask is that you read and understand this piece.

It was Not the Jew

It was not the Jew,
who yielded to public demand,
who gave an innocent being,
to be killed.

It was not the Jew,
who also gave this being,
to be whipped, His back becoming
bloody and mutilated.

Nor was it the Jew,
who made a crown of thorns,
and with a reed and a cloak,
bowed before Him in mocking manner.

It was also not the Jew,
who made a cross,
forcing Him to carry it,
to the place to die.

Finally, It was not the Jew,
who, with its many hands,
landed thunderous blows to nails,
on to His hands and feet.

And who used a spear,
piercing His side,
to let the blood flow,
and prove He had died.

But, rejoice and be glad,
For it was The Jew,
who carried the sin of the world,
and made us free.
